The carbon nanotube-based device can probe single living cells without damaging them, a technique which can allow the experts to identify diseases in their early stages and advance drug delivery.
The device, known as cellular endoscope, can evaluate cells about a thousand times smaller than a human hair.
The endoscope can interrogate the intracellular environment of living cells, deliver fluorescent quantum dots, and analyse molecules inside a cell, without the cell recognising the needle’s presence.
