The new radiation oncology portfolio includes Pinnacle Evolution, the next generation of the Philips Pinnacle treatment planning software.
Pinnacle Evolution helps in integrating advanced automated planning tools with Sun Nuclear’s PlanIQ software to enhance the evaluation of treatment feasibility and offer better therapy planning workflow.
With personalized planning, the software helps clinicians to rapidly build patient-specific therapy plans. Pinnace Evolution is provided with new -modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) and volumetric-modulated arc therapy (VMAT) optimization technology to improve performance and maintain the high plan quality clinicians expect.
The company has unveiled a new Big Bore RT system, which offers precise treatment planning through accuracy in lesion identification, tissue density calculation and segmentation Philips Big Bore RT is an oncology CT simulator, which helps to optimize critical clinical decisions across all phases of scanning, planning and treatment.
The new fully-digital Ingenia MR-RT platform is comprised of Ingenia Elition 3.0T MR-RT and Ambition X 1.5T MR-RT systems. Both systems feature Compressed SENSE, which is an advanced acceleration application that enables to reduce 2D and 3D scan times by up to 50%.
Ingenia Ambition X is said to be the first MR system to integrate the firm’s BlueSeal magnet, the world’s first MR system that supports helium-free operations. Ingenia Elition integrates new high-performance gradients, which will allow rapid diffusion scans with a high signal-to-noise ratio, and also enables improved tissue characterization and treatment response monitoring.
The company is showcasing the new radiation oncology portfolio at the American Society for Radiation Oncology’s (ASTRO) 60th annual meeting and exhibition in San Antonio, Texas, which is being held from 21 to 24 October.
Philips radiation oncology general manager Ardie Ermers said: “Spanning imaging and treatment planning, our new portfolio combines advanced imaging systems with intelligent, adaptive treatment planning software.
“Through strong, innovative partnerships with our customers and industry partners, Philips is designing dedicated radiation oncology solutions that enhance the work of clinicians and their patient care.”
