Ochsner Health System is a non-profit, academic, multi-specialty, healthcare delivery system with eight hospitals and over 38 health centers in Louisiana .
SurgiCount said its Safety-Sponge system improves patient safety by preventing foreign objects retainment during surgeries.
Ochsner Health Systems executive vice president and chief medical officer Joseph Bisord said they continually strive to improve the standard of care they can provide to their patients.
"After reviewing the evidence supporting the clinical efficacy and cost effectiveness of the SurgiCount system we were eager to get SurgiCount implemented in our hospitals," Bisord said.
