Prior to joining this company, Kuyper served as president and CEO of Alphatec Spine and also worked at US-based Aesculap where he initially served as a regional sales manager and later as president.

IlluminOss founder and chief technology officer Robert Rabiner said Kuyper has the ability to move the company into the commercialization phase.

"I look forward to working closely with him to implement market acceptance and distribution of our innovative products while I focus on further development of our technology," Rabiner added.

Kuyper said the technology, IlluminOss Photodynamic Bone Stabilization System, developed by Bob Rabiner’s team has the potential to change the standard of care in fracture management.

"I am excited about being part of the team and leveraging my global commercialization background to help build IlluminOss into a leading company in the fracture fixation marketplace," Kuyper added.

Using an expandable balloon catheters and a photodynamic (light-curable) polymer system, the Photodynamic Stabilization system creates internal bone support and alignment systems to stabilize and treat bone fractures.
