In three clinical studies, Prevacid 24HR has proved for better efficacy in treating frequent heartburn by stopping the release of acid into the stomach for 24 hours.
A dose of once-daily “Prevacid 24HR” is the only PPI containing the active ingredient lansoprazole to be approved for OTC treatment of frequent heartburn.
Prevacid 24HR is a 14-day course and should be taken once per day with empty stomach in the morning.
Professor Brian Fennerty, Oregon Health and Science University, said: “This is an important development for the 50 million American adults who suffer from frequent heartburn”.
“Prescription strength Prevacid 24HR will be both an effective and well-tolerated option for treating frequent heartburn,” he added.
