BMS and MPC develop and manufacture biomedical textile implants and precise polymer components, respectively.
Services provided by BMS are used in the markets of orthopaedic, cardiovascular, general surgery and tissue-engineering.
BMS offers full line of services ranging from concept design, full scale production, supply chain management, post-manufacturing sterilisation and packaging.
On the other hand, MPC designs, develops and manufactures precise polymer components and assemblies. It can also perform secondary operations for all types of polymer tubing, such as complex, multi-lumen extrusions to create ramps, tips or any imaginable feature.
The newly formed, combined company will operate as Confluent Medical Technologies, offering solutions in medical device manufacturing, testing and design services.
Confluent Medical president and CEO Dean Schauer said: “The acquisition of Biomedical Structures and Modified Polymer Components is another step in our strategy of expanding our portfolio of world-class medical technologies.
“The combination of Confluent Medical with Biomedical Structures and Modified Polymer Components allows us to provide our customers with a consolidated organization for the full-scale design, testing, and manufacturing of their life-saving devices."
