Boston Imaging, the US headquarters for sales, marketing, and distribution of Samsung digital radiography and ultrasound systems, has launched a new mobile digital radiography device, the GM85 Fit.
The device, based on the configuration of premium AccE GM85, has a user-centric design for efficient and effective patient care.
According to the Samsung subsidiary, the device is powered by a lead-free lithium-ion battery to make it a more value-oriented mobile X-ray device with high efficiency, throughput and workflow features, and a long lifespan.
The GM85 Fit features a rapid charging mode that can charge the device within 3-4 hours. Without extra charging, the device can take up to 550 exposures and drive up to 37.3 miles in 11 hours.
Its lighter design makes the driving experience effortless. The detector is also lightweight, allowing the technician to place the patient more easily.
During standby and night mode, the device operates at low noise levels of less than 42 dB allowing rapid management of device sound and brightness, said the firm.
The system also has a MirrorView feature that allows healthcare professionals to evaluate photographs while safely sharing their screens.
Similar to AccE GM85, the GM85 Fit includes features such as automated Lung Nodule Detection software, S-Enhance functionality for improved clarity of foreign bodies in images of chest abdomen and L-spine, and Bone suppression for improved clarity of soft tissues, Boston Imaging said.
Boston Imaging vice president David Legg said: “We are pleased to launch the GM85 Fit. It’s designed with the user in mind, from its lightweight design to its array of features.
“This solution is the latest addition to our best-in-class family of products. As the procedure volume of mobile X-ray increases to deal with unprecedented patient volume, Samsung continues to focus on creating more efficient mobile imaging solutions.”
The US Food and Drug Administration recently granted the GM85 Fit 510(k) certification for commercial use in the US.
