The company claims, the system facilitates high-resolution visualization of an array of open microsurgical procedures of cardiovascular, spine, small joint applications, pediatric, head and neck, and plastic surgery.

The VITOM System combines an exoscope with a high-definition (HD) video camera system and includes a display unit, light source, holding systems and documentation unit.

The FULL-HD video components deliver 1080p resolution for image quality for display and recording, with a wide 16:9 aspect ratio.

KARL STORZ Microscopy executive director Georg Weiss said the magnified image delivers visual quality that can observed from a convenient distance by both surgeon and assistant, as well as by the entire OR team on a FULL HD monitor.

"The VITOM system aids in documentation of surgical procedures, capturing and recording FULL HD images and video on the KARL STORZ AIDA system," Weiss said.
