The approval was based on the clinical study, which assessed the accuracy of the systems when tested by lay users and healthcare professionals.

Both the systems feature Triple Sense Technology, which helps to detect, analyze and correct for environmental and physiological variability, including hematocrit and temperature, resulting in precise, proven accuracy.

The meter, a complex algorithm, test strip chemistry and electrodes work in line with True Metrix system to produce accurate results.

The meters feature pre and post meal tags, which help patients to know about blood glucose results to better see how food affects blood glucose.

In addition, the products permit patients to tie notable events such as exercise, medication, and sickness, as well as blood glucose readings to determine patterns and trends.

Nipro Diagnostics CEO and president Scott Verner said the launch of new systems strengthen firm’s leadership position in blood glucose monitoring and join a quickly expanding ecosystem of high-quality and high-value healthcare management products.

"True Metrix is a valued addition to our growing portfolio of healthcare management products," Verner added.

As part of the partner brands or under firm’s own True brand of products, True Metrix will be sold through retail, mail and distribution channels from 2014 fourth quarter.

The company is also expanding the manufacturing capabilities at its Florida facility, where research and development, engineering and test strip manufacturing take place for all of the True branded blood glucose products.
