Philips Healthcare Informatics Solutions and Services CEO Jeroen Tas said the FDA clearance of the eCareCoordinator and eCareCompanion applications mark the first major step in realizing vision for a digital health platform.

"These applications address both clinician and patient needs, providing clinicians with better access and analysis around patient data while empowering patients to manage their own health with direct access to care teams," Tas added.

The eCareCoordinator application will provide clinicians with a daily review of each of their patients, and allow them to prioritize patients and adjust care plans or intervene as needed.

The applications are part of the Philips Transition to Ambulatory Care (eTrAC) program, which has been designed to reduce readmissions and lower healthcare costs by focusing on effective chronic care management within their homes.
