The applicator and multi-platform controller will be showcased in the iCAD/Xoft booth at the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) annual meeting from July 12-16, 2015 in Anaheim, CA.
The cervical applicator, Xoft’s first multi-channel applicator, is used to deliver a precise dose of radiation to larger target areas of the cervix while minimizing exposure to healthy tissue. The addition of the cervical applicator completes Xoft’s gynecological product line, allowing radiation oncologists to treat all gynecological indications with the Xoft System.

The Xoft System is FDA cleared to treat cancer anywhere in the body, including skin, vaginal, endometrial, cervical, and early-stage breast cancer. It has been used to treat more than 10,000 patients to date across all clinical applications.
The Xoft System is an isotope-free radiation treatment cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and CE marked in the EU for use anywhere in the body, including for the treatment of early-stage breast cancer, gynecological cancers and non-melanoma skin cancer.
It utilizes a proprietary miniaturized x-ray as the radiation source that delivers precise treatment directly to cancerous areas while sparing healthy tissue and organs. The Xoft System requires only minimal shielding and therefore does not require room redesign or construction investment. Minimal shielding also allows medical personnel to remain in the room with the patient during treatment.
