The system features an adjustable sleeve with compression therapy device unit attached. It can be used at home or in a hospital to assist in the elimination of DVT and improve circulation.
DVT is a condition in which blood clots (thrombus) in a vein deep inside a muscle in the body. It is commonly found in the deep veins of the pelvis, thigh, or calf. It can partly or completely block blood flow, resulting in sudden swelling, pain or sensation of warmth.
Cirona 6300 features an adjustable sleeve with compression therapy device unit attached. It can be used at home or in a hospital to assist in the elimination of DVT and improve circulation.
The device simulates blood flow in extreme conditions, by using pneumatic compression and helps in avoiding the early onset of blood clots that can occur following various traumas or in post-operative settings.
Adjustable velcro sleeves make it easy in applying and removing the device for therapy. Users should press and hold the start button to start the therapy. Treatment can be halted and started at any time.
The Cirona 6300 device features rechargeable batteries that can last for about eight hours.
Devon Medical Products president Chip Ross said: "The American Hospital Association estimates that 1 out of every 1,000 Americans develops DVT each year.
"The Cirona 6300 brings convenience and clinical efficacy to this important prevention therapy."
About 300,000 Americans die each year from DVT-related pulmonary embolism in the US.
