The accreditation process comprised CAP inspector examination of Genewiz laboratory safety program and records, staff qualifications, equipment, facilities, and overall management, as well as laboratory records and procedure quality control.

College of American Pathologists said, "Designed to go well beyond regulatory compliance, the [CAP Accreditation] program provides a solid foundation for quality practices and helps laboratories achieve the highest standards of excellence to positively impact patient care."

Genewiz translational genomics vice president Guanghui Hu said receiving CAP accreditation signifies a milestone for the company’s clinical services.

"CAP accreditation reaffirms our commitment to providing the highest quality clinical genomic services, including clinically relevant and medically actionable data for physicians, pathologists, and researchers," Hu added.
