As the sister event to the highly regarded Medical Technology Ireland, now in its seventh successful year, Medical Technology UK 2024 promises to be a two-day exhibition featuring 100 specialist companies representing all tiers of the medical device manufacturing supply chain. Alongside the exhibition, attendees can participate in the Learning Programme, designed to inform, educate, and inspire the process of bringing new medical devices to market more efficiently and effectively.
Renowned figures such as Prof. Tony Young, National Clinical Lead for Innovation at NHS England, will chair and present a conference session on the “Future of Medical Technology Innovation” on Wednesday, March 13. Joining him are esteemed professionals like Elspeth Bailey, Senior Policy Adviser at the Office for Life Sciences; Michelle Sullivan, Head of Public Affairs, EMEA at Boston Scientific; and John Connah, Team Lead – Software at eg technology.
Another highlight is the “Disruptive Innovators in MedTech” conference session chaired by Prof. Philip Breedon of Nottingham Trent University on Thursday, March 14. Prof. Breedon will discuss disruptive innovation in medical device design, accompanied by panel speakers Luke Burke, Co-Founder & Director of Corryn Biotechnologies; Kunal Vyas, Director of Surgical Solutions Research at Lightpoint Medical/Telix Pharma; and Dr. Alastair Darwood, Founder and Inventor at Inspired Ventilation.
Additionally, the Women in MedTech Forum, chaired by Dr. Helen Meese, CEO and Founder of the Care Machine, will feature prominent speakers like Bal Johal, R&D Director at Owen Mumford; Martina Kilkenny, Senior Director Operations Sourcing – EAC Region at Medtronic; and Lynn Heaver, Director of Regulatory Affairs, UK / Ireland at Johnson & Johnson MedTech, sharing their career journeys and initiatives.
