Laborie Medical Technologies has introduced the alpHaONE system, designed specifically to diagnose gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
According to the US-based diagnostic and therapeutic medical technology company, alpHaONE is a wireless pH-capsule reflux testing system that provides up to 96 hours of monitoring data.
The addition of the alpHaONE system expands Laborie’s gastroenterology motility and reflux product portfolio.
Laborie said that the latest offering also aligns with its commitment to advance diagnostic solutions for oesophageal diseases.
Laborie GI business unit sales and marketing vice-president Rhett Klein said: “alpHaONE is a patient-centric system that allows for comfortable monitoring and accurate, reliable data, fulfilling the needs of both patients and healthcare providers to diagnose GERD.
“Our primary objective has always been to provide solutions that elevate patient outcomes and enhance their overall experience and we look forward to launching this product.”
The company claimed that alpHaONE has a compact and ergonomic design with enlarged and easy-to-press buttons. The system also incorporates a fail-safe capsule delivery system to protect the oesophagus of patients.
The medical technology firm has installed a software application in the alpHaONE system which consists of a virtual instruction programme for easy navigation.
Additionally, the pH-capsule reflux testing system has user-customisable symptom buttons and automatic pH data analysis to offer a smooth user experience.
Headquartered in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Laborie is engaged in the production of diagnostic and therapeutic products for urogynaecology, urology, obstetrics, gynaecology, gastroenterology, and neonatal health.
Recently, Laborie snapped up Novonate and its LifeBubble technology to expand its neonatal portfolio.
LifeBubble device offers umbilical catheter protection and securement to improve safety for neonates in the intensive care setting.
In January last year, Laborie acquired license to the Optilume Urethral Drug Coated Balloon (DCB) from US-based medical device maker Urotronic.
