GE Healthcare has partnered with AliveCor, a US-based medical device and AI company, to enhance patient convenience and help minimise cardiac-related hospitalisations by improving the integration of patient data.
Under the partnership, medical-grade six-lead electrocardiograms (ECGs) taken by patients on an AliveCor KardiaMobile 6L ECG device will be integrated into GE Healthcare’s MUSE Cardiac Management System for physicians to evaluate.
According to GE Healthcare, the integration will help physicians in managing diagnosed cardiac conditions, proving access to trusted patient data and the ability to manage cardiac-related hospitalisations including but not limited to atrial fibrillation.
The AI-enabled KardiaMobile 6L ECG device, approved by the US Food and drug administration (FDA), can detect atrial fibrillation along with other heart rhythm conditions.
GE Healthcare’s MUSE is a cardiac management system that connects with the hospital’s electronic medical record (EMR) for easy transaction and analysis of data resulting in improved patient care.
The integration will help in more efficient and timely care for patients within the 87% of top cardiac hospitals using GE MUSE. The clinician will now have streamlined access to cardiac data from patients from anywhere which will make lifesaving care easy.
